Really enjoy the laid back, friendly nature of the club. Everyone immediately made me feel welcome and were really encouraging after having a long break from the sport.
Sheffield City Council’s Ward Pot Small Grants funding was instrumental to helping us sustain our beginning training sessions when the club started up in 2014. Our project, through the running of regular women’s (over 16 years old) football training sessions in the City Centre of Sheffield at The U-Mix Centre also contributed towards the Central Ward’s priority of Health and Wellbeing for All.
The Grant helped fund 13, 1 hour training sessions engaging around 30 women in football activity and helped us sustain interest in the club whilst we were engaging women and forming a team to enter the Sheffield and Hallamshire Women’s County League for our first season (2014-2015).
Have been made to feel part of the team since day one. Also an exciting opportunity to develop a new team.
It extended our involvement with women that we had engaged through the FA’s Just Play scheme.
